Megan Markle made an amazing appearance on CNN’s annual Heroes TV special Sunday to pay tribute to the people who made a difference in the fight against the corona virus infection.
Last year the Duchess of Sussex thanked individuals (who) stood up and ensured that the most basic needs of our communities were met, which he described as “a global challenge for all”.
The 39-year-old added: “They made sure that those around them did not have to suffer in solitude.”
Markley and her husband, Prince Harry, announced earlier this year that they were abandoning their roles as “senior” royals and moving to California, while a deadly bug is spreading around the world.
The couple has been volunteering with several charities in the Los Angeles area. In April, CNN reported that they were feeding city dwellers through Project Angel Food, a program that feeds the long-term sick.
They recently distributed items to needy students with Baby 2 Baby and volunteered with the Sussex Duke Walker Family Events Foundation, which supports veterans and their families, the network said.
“In the face of this devastating reality, we have seen the power of the human spirit and the remarkable ways in which communities respond in challenging times,” Duchess told CNN.
“We saw the benefits in our neighbors and in the whole community, they say our neighbors will not stand when they are hungry,” he continued.
“We have seen communities stand up and take action. When the children’s lunch shows stopped, we saw our neighbors making sure the kids got the nutrition they needed. When the immune system or the most vulnerable are unable to leave their homes, we as a community have shown them the food they need at their doorsteps, ”said Markle.
“We know the value of food – nutrition, as a source of life – and in times of crisis, the warmth of food is as comforting as the much-needed warmth, especially in the absence of human contact due to social distance. These moments are reminiscent of many, and they are noticed,” he added.
