Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have hijacked peace talks with the monarchy by talking about private chats with CBS’s Gayle King, an action condemned by the royal biographer as a “shocking breach of trust,” according to a report.
King, 66, Tuesday he spoke openly about his weekend call with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, saying they were still upset and frustrated and that Harry’s conversations with his father and brother “were not productive”.
Royal sources told the Mirror that private conversations that were openly discussed and used against them would “cause alarm”.
“This kind of behavior could have huge implications for trust between advancing fields,” the source said.
Royal biographer Penny Junor also told the newspaper that King’s unexpected revelations can only expect other royals to be more vigilant in their approaches to repairing the royal rift.
“It’s a shocking breach of trust,” Junor said of the Sussexes repeating their private chats to a television reporter.
“The family will take care that everything they tell Harry ends up on American television.”
Sources at Buckingham Palace insisted at the outset that the monarchy would not risk losing its life and would also reveal negative news about attempts at reconciliation.
“None of the households (the Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) will comment on private conversations,” a palace source told Mirror.
