Meghan Markle’s latest supporting voice comes from her former “Suits” protagonist.
Patrick J. Adams led to Twitter to defend the “enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, cheerful” Markle, who played his wife in the series, amid claims he intimidated his royal aides.
“She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she loves.” He wrote Friday.
Adams, 39, blasted the royal family, which he described as “best complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic” and defended Markle, who faced “endless racism, slander and click vitriol “from the British press.
“It is OBSCEN that the royal family, who is [sic] currently, the newest member grows inside her, promotes and amplifies accusations of “bullying” against a woman who was basically forced to go up [sic] the UK to protect his family and his own mental health ” Adams continued, in reference to Markle’s current pregnancy.
She and her husband, Prince Harry, are already parents to a nearly 2-year-old son, Archie.
Adams also gave his “opinion” on Buckingham Palace and his decision to probe the allegations, writing “this most recent chapter and is [sic] the moment is just another striking example of the shamelessness of an institution that has survived its relevance, which is oversized in credibility and seemingly failed in decency. “
Adams, who also attended Harry and Markle’s wedding to his wife, Troian Bellisario, ended his petition by requesting that The Firm return to Markle.
“Find someone else to admonish, rebuke and torment.” He wrote. “My friend Meghan is out of your league.”
Fans will hear the role of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex story on Sunday during her revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS.
