U.S. First Lady Melania Trump finally spoke Monday about the congressional takeover last week by supporters of her husband, denouncing being the object of “attacks” and malicious treatment.
His silence had drawn much attention after the national crisis that erupted on Wednesday, when President Donald Trump, who insists he was robbed of re-election, encouraged a large crowd of supporters to march for Congress. who then set out to certify Joe Biden’s triumph.

The blazing mob stormed the Capitol looting offices and clashing with police, forcing the evacuation of lawmakers and creating chaos that impacted everyone. The riot left five dead.
Melania Trump’s first public reaction was through a typographical error statement posted on the White House website, where the first lady said she was “disappointed and discouraged by what happened last week.”
“I absolutely condemn the violence that took place in the Capitol. Violence is never acceptable,” he wrote.

But his disappointment apparently also had to do with the treatment he feels he received after the unprecedented assault on the heart of American democracy.
“I find it shameful that around these tragic events there have been lewd gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false and misleading accusations against me, of people seeking to be relevant and have issues they want to advance,” Melania Trump wrote, without specifying these attacks.
In his statement, he also expressed his condolences to the families of the five killed in the riots, listing the names of the trumpeters killed before that of Brian Sicknick, a police officer who died from injuries inflicted during the demonstration.

“Our nation must heal in a civilized way. Make no mistake about it, I absolutely condemn the violence that took place at our nation’s Capitol. Violence is never acceptable,” Melania Trump said.
The Trumps are due to leave the White House on January 20, when Biden takes over as the 46th president of the United States.
