Melissa McCarthy has remained in Australia with her family since she shot Nicole Kidman’s Hine mini-series, Nine Perfect Strangers, in New South Wales in 2020.

She and her husband Ben Falcone revealed in February that they had chosen to extend their stay in Down Under to shoot the Netflix series God Favorite Idiot in the country.

On Wednesday, the Hollywood couple saw scenes of the upcoming comedy filming in Lismore, 45 miles west of Byron Bay.

The Favorite Favorite Idiot is a workplace comedy about a mid-level tech support employee Clark Thompson (Falcone) who finds love with co-worker Amily Luck (McCarthy) at exactly the same time he becomes the involuntary message from God.

The 50-year-old star of the bridesmaids looked almost unrecognizable in a blonde wig as she prepared for scenes in an exquisite garden.

Despite the warmer summer temperatures in Australia, Melissa covered herself in a burgundy raincoat.

For the scene, she was also wearing black pants with a pussy bow blouse that clashed with patterns.

Melissa’s character looks like she’s wearing glasses, with the actress wearing sleek square lens mounts when called to action.
