Does Melissa Villasor have the impression she can’t? In last night’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” hosted by Timothy Salamet, Wilkesore Kate McKinnon introduced a new look during the “Weekend Update” section following Dr. Venovitz’s revenge: Dolly Barton.
Villasour’s Barton’s intention was to discuss her favorite holiday albums, but decided to take it in a different direction. The cast member, along with the division’s co-anchor Colin Jost, appeared in a familiar oversized blonde wig, a fancy white dress and a beauty mark on his cheek … among other body features.
After seeing her dress and new hair-do, Jost asked, “I’m a little nervous to hear this from you, but are you dressed as Dolly Partner?”
“What? No, this is my special Christmas dress,” he replied.
“Are you sure?” He replied. “I hear it now because you’re trying to get your Dolly Barton look on the show right now.”
Villasseur, who has been on “SNL” since 2016, promised his actor that he would only be there to sing Christmas carols. When Jost asked what were some of his favorite holiday songs, he said it was a tough choice before deciding “Holy Jolly Christmas”.
He volunteered to sing it to prove his love for the song, and Barton revealed a look about singing the classic tune.
“Oh, I love Christmas,” Villasseur said, still impersonating the folk music icon.
“Yeah, that’s great, but you only did a Dolly Barton look,” Jost pointed out.
“Hey buddy, eyes here,” she replied, referring to her numerous fake breasts. “Do you know what other song I like? ‘Jingle Bells,’ What a classic. “
Before Jost could respond, the classical guitar riff of “Jolene” began to play, and the actor began weaving into holiday classic songs.
“Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells all the way,” he sang. “I beg you, please do not take … Jolene.”
Villasore explained the reason for his intention, saying to Jost, “Yes, Newsflash; I want to be Dolly. Who doesn’t? She is the best. “
“She’s a great singer. She writes her own songs. She donated $ 1 million to the vaccine,” he added. “Plus, this week there was a news that a child was saved from a car crash …”
Explaining how he got used to a midnight mass in Latin with his family on Christmas day and how he was going to perform his favorite song from that occasion, Villasore told Jost that he would be actively coming for the last Christmas song.
Even before Villasseur erupted in the original lyrics from the classic hit chorus, the “9 to 5” intro began to play out.
The fans seemed to really like the look. “I want the whole picture of Melissa singing Dolly. She sounds just like her,” someone wrote on YouTube. Another fan added, “It looks like they’re dubbed Melissa with the real Dolly Parton. It’s a hell of a look.”
In February 2019, Villasseur pulled off a similar stunt during a “Weekend Update” appearance, this time breaking her Lady Gaga look by wearing a white pantyhose and full platinum wig, promising Jost to be herself.
“How dare you, I did not make an appearance,” Villa told accusing Villasore of trying to get his Lady Gaga look on the show. “I’m Melissa, this is my famous Grammy preview. It’s not a wig, I was born this way.”
After the “Shallow” song exploded, Villasore admitted at the end of the section, “I wanted to do my gaga idea!”
