“Messi and Ronaldo will be attracted to Inter Miami”

David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami, said that his team is determined to sign world stars like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

In an interview with Taylor Twellman, of ESPNHe assured that the world stars will be attracted to play in Miami once they finish their playing days in Europe.

“When we announced Miami, there was always talk of which players we were going to bring, be it Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar.

“There would always be those discussions. In fact, I don’t think it’s hard for players to decide, to be honest, because it’s a great place.”

Miami has several notable players on its roster, including Gonzalo Higuain, Blaise Matuidi and Rodolfo Pizarro. However, the team finished in tenth place in the Eastern Conference, coming out of the first round of the playoffs in a season that was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Beckham exercised his option to buy an MLS franchise in 2014 after his retirement, and the league awarded the team to him and his business partners in 2018.

Beckham said a revived club in South Florida will arouse the interest of world superstars looking for a new challenge.

“Obviously it’s a big city, I feel like we have a big fan base, but I also understand that there’s a lot of talent in Miami and South Florida, and I think we have a real opportunity.

“Miami is a city that attracts players who have been playing in Europe who are big stars.”

Beckham also said he is confident new coach Phil Neville will bring out the best in club players in his sophomore year. Neville, who played alongside Beckham at Manchester United and England, was signed this offseason after a mediocre opening performance with Diego Alonso.

“(Neville) is the kind of coach who will bring out the best in the players. Not only will he work with the designated players, he will also work with the youngsters who have gone through the academies.

“His experience was part of one of the best football academies at Manchester United when we were little, working with different coaches.

“She was David Moyes’ assistant at Manchester United, he was assistant coach at Valencia, and then obviously he went on to coach the England women’s national team, which was a great experience, but also challenging at times.” , pointed out Beckham.
