Metro Health will make 30,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments available on Thursday

SAINT ANTHONY – The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District will make 30,000 Pfizer vaccine appointments available for the first dose starting at 7 p.m., Thursday.

Residents can sign up for an appointment on Metro Health’s COVID-19 vaccine registration website.

People without Internet access can call the 311 COVID customer service line from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to noon on weekends.

All appointments will be scheduled from April 6 to May 1 at the Alamodome, according to a press release.

People who decide to opt for the San Antonio City text alert system can send text messages VACCINE at 55000 or in Spanish VACCINE at 55000. Upon registration, they will receive a text notifying them of locations that have appointments available. If you opt for this text alert system, you will not sign up for a vaccine or be added to a waiting list. This is an additional method to inform the community when new appointments are available. At this time the notifications will be for Alamodome, the wonderland of the Americas, managed by University Health, UT Health San Antonio and WellMed.
