DAVIE, Florida. – Miami Dolphins head catcher DeVante Parker is expected to play the New England Patriots on Sunday despite less hamstring strain, a league source told ESPN.
Parker suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of last Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and did not return, but he has exercised throughout this week and has looked good in preparation for the game. He appeared questionable in the injury report, but, to no surprise, the dolphins should return the main weapon.
It will be especially important for the Dolphins offense that Parker consider the severity of the injuries and COVID-19 over the past two weeks. Tight end Mike Gesicki (shoulder), receiver Jakeem Grant (hamstring) and runner Salvon Ahmed (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday’s match, while runner Myles Gaskin will miss the match due to COVID-19.
Parker has become a top player playing through pain after being criticized early in his career for being prone to injury. The extension, which leads the team with 56 catches for 677 yards and four touchdowns, is about to play 16 games for the second season in a row.
