Michael Strahan, co-host of the Pro Football Hall of Famer and “Good Morning America,” has been positive COVID-19, announced on Thursday its co-host Robin Roberts.
“We know you’ve noticed that Michael hasn’t been here with us this week,” Roberts said. “He wanted us to let you know that he has tested positive for COVID. He’s at home quarantining right now.”

Host colleague George Stephanopoulos added that many people have turned to Strahan. “He says thank you for the concern, very grateful for that and for the wishes,” Stephanopoulos said. “He’s fine too, looking forward to coming back here soon.”
The host said those in the studio had been licensed by Disney, ABC News’ parent company, after tracking contacts according to CDC guidelines.
On a lighter note, Robert said he was in “constant contact” with Strahan via text message and that his dog, Enzo, keeps him “nice and warm.”
Strahan, a former New York Giants defender, is the latest high-profile figure to reveal a positive diagnosis of COVID-19. Comedian Dave Chappelle canceled the shows last week later giving positive for the virus.
Ellen DeGeneres tried positive for the virus in December and recently re-organized its social gathering program. Last year, Stephanopoulos gave positive after his wife, Ali Wentworth, had been fighting COVID-19.
