Michelle Branch revealed she suffered a miscarriage on Christmas Day.
The 37-year-old singer took to Instagram a series of photos with her loved ones as she lamented the challenging year.
In addition to her miscarriage, Michelle noted the attack in downtown Nashville on Christmas Day that injured three people and affected more than 40 businesses in the area after a van exploded.

“Just as we were circling the third and heading home (a baseball metaphor ?! I know.) 2020 was like ‘no, I’m not done yet.’ In December he decided to really end us with an explosion.” he wrote. “No, literally.” Yesterday he dropped a bomb in downtown Nashville.
“And to further twist a dagger in my heart, I experienced my first miscarriage (ugh, mother mother!)”
Michelle has a two-year-old son, Rhys James Carney, with her husband Patrick Carney of The Black Keys.

She also shares the parenting responsibilities of her 15-year-old daughter, Owen, with ex-husband Teddy Landau.
Michelle wore a green crown while posing for photos with some of her loved ones on a unique vacation, as many were separated from the family due to the COVID-19 pandemic and several stay-at-home orders.
“But unfortunately, between crying and excessive consumption of Christmas cookies, I decided to put on a lipstick and a dress,” he added.

We drank champagne all day. He made an amazing meal and sang Christmas carols greeted by a roaring fire. 5 more days until 2021. I’m limping to the finish line.
“These people, my lovely family, my husband, my sister and my children have been the MVPs. I couldn’t imagine spending a year alone with anyone else. Merry Christmas, everyone xx.”
