ANN TREE – Michigan Medicine announced Monday in an email to staff that it has expanded the priority group of COVID-19 phase 1A vaccines after administering more than 11,000 vaccines since Dec. 14.
According to state recommendations, those now eligible for a phase 1A vaccine at the University of Michigan include:
- Anyone who plays a role at Michigan Medicine or the University of Michigan who works in a clinical setting (i.e., hospital, outpatient clinic, home care) and cannot work exclusively remotely can receive a COVID-19 vaccine now as apart from phase 1A.
- Anyone who plays a role at the University of Michigan in a clinical setting and cannot work exclusively remotely can also receive a COVID-19 vaccine now as part of Phase 1A. This includes staff and students working in the following areas: university health services, dentistry, nursing, social work, kinesiology, public health, pharmacy, and others working in a clinical setting.
“There will be enough vaccine for everyone and we look forward to new submissions every week,” the email read.
On Monday at 9 a.m., Michigan Medicine reported the following vaccine data:
- Number of total vaccine doses received by the University of Michigan: 11,950
