DETROIT – Starting Monday, April 5, all Michigan residents 16 years of age or older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
State guidelines will lift restrictions on booking an appointment with the COVID-19 vaccine on April 5, which will allow all adults to receive one of three FDA-authorized shots.
Michigan will also see an increase in vaccine shipments starting this week to help combat the current increase in COVID-19, which is one of the worst in the U.S.
Options for finding a vaccine have been expanding across the state over the past week and will continue as supply increases. Here are some of the best options for finding an appointment:
Announcements
CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Rite Aid are rapidly expanding appointments in Metro Detroit and throughout Michigan. The best time to find appointments is early in the morning. (Pro-tip: search by zip codes)
Also check with local neighborhood pharmacies. Many have a supply of vaccines or waiting lists.
Local health departments have launched local clinics for residents, some in local communities and some at the county level. You can find a list of each health department here.
Walking clinics are one of the best ways to get a vaccine. This week, in Sterling Heights, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, ACCESS will host a Pfizer mobile clinic open to anyone over the age of 16. More information here.
