CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – MidAmerican Energy is urging its customers to keep their natural gas consumption as extreme weather conditions affect supplies across the country.
MidAmerican Energy said its systems are working as expected, but the flow of natural gas to Iowa has been affected by frozen wells in the southern United States.
The company said it expects the problem to be resolved over the next few days as temperatures in the southern United States rise.
MidAmerican asks customers to consider making minor adjustments, such as lowering the thermostat a few degrees, to help ensure natural gas is available.
