Mike Glennon will be the quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Mike Glennon will start the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Coach Doug Marrone had Glennon and Gardner Minshew hand out first-team representatives throughout the week before deciding to go with the eight-year veteran to try and get a 13-game losing streak with a franchise record.

Glennon’s fourth start to the season will come against one of his four former teams.

Glennon completed 61% of his passes over 600 yards and three touchdowns with three interceptions in losses against Cleveland, Minnesota and Tennessee. Marrone replaced Glennon in the third quarter of the Jaguars’ 31-10 loss to Tennessee, and Minshew finished the game and began last week’s loss to Baltimore.

Minshew completed 22 of 29 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-14 loss to the Ravens. He was also fired five times, including one for safety, and Marrone opened the competition this week.

“I’ve never been part of any competition in practice the week of a match,” Glennon said earlier this week. “It’s definitely unique, but we just have to do our job, which is to go to the fullest and play to the best of our ability and leave those decisions to the decision makers. It’s a unique situation. It’s been a It has appeared this year that I think none of us saw coming. “

Prior to this season, Glennon’s last start was on September 28, 2017, when he was with Chicago. He started the first four games of that season before being replaced by rookie Mitchell Trubisky, whom the Bears scored with the second overall team.
