The iconic defeat, against boxer James Douglas, marked a before and after in his career
Mike Tyson it was a time the best boxer of the world in the late eighties and early nineties. Tyson is one of the athletes who appeared most in the headlines in the late twentieth century, not only for his successes inside the quadrangle, but for his behavior outside of it.
His fame, his unbeatability and popularity, put him in a world of excesses; and little by little, the American was declining in his career. In 1990, with a record of 37 wins and zero losses, Tyson finally fell to the canvas, because of his crazy life.
He was the youngest world heavyweight champion in history, as he was just 20 years old when he rose to victory. In the late 80s and early 90s he won the three world belts, as well as being the champion of the World Boxing Council between 1986 and 1990.
Already 31 years ago, on February 11, 1990, James Douglas took the titles of the AMB, CMB and FIB of the category of heavy weights to Mike Tyson, overcoming it in the tenth assault in a fight in Japan .

Mike himself explained it in his autobiography: A sex marathon on Japanese soil was the cause of Tyson’s low performance and unpreparedness.
“On January 8, 1990, I got on a plane to fly to Tokyo. Kicking and screaming. I didn’t want to fight; all I was interested in then was going out partying and having sex with women. I didn’t consider Douglas a great challenge. I didn’t even bother to watch any of his fights on video. I had easily beaten everyone who had knocked him out, “Tyson said.
Tyson did not have to leave his hotel in Tokyo. It was there that he unleashed a sex party with other women, even though he had traveled with his wife to the fight.
“Besides having sex with the maids, I was watching this young Japanese woman with whom I had sex the last time I was in Japan. Robin (his wife) went shopping and I went down to the back of the house. ‘hotel where this young woman had a room … So this was my training for Douglas,’ ‘explained the American.
Mike couldn’t stop, not caring that he was on the verge of a momentous fight: “The day before the fight I also had two maids at the same time. And then two more girls, one at a time, the night before the fight, “he confessed.
