The Minnesota Department of Health has announced that it will take action against two more bars / restaurants that have reopened in violation of the state ban on food in service to reduce the spread of COVID.
The department has issued cessation and abandonment orders and notice of suspension of liquor license against the Long Pine store in Pine River and Jamieson’s in Main in Oslo.
The current ban on dinner service is in effect until Jan. 11, after the Walz government extended the initial closure period that would end Dec. 18.
MDH says the Long Pine Store was found open for “beverage consumption” during an inspection on Dec. 18, with the cessation and withdrawal and notice of suspension of the license issued Dec. 24.

An inspection was conducted on December 21 at Jamieson’s on Main and it was also found to be open for food consumption.
They join a growing list of establishments that have been the subject of enforcement action by MDH, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety or the Minnesota Attorney General’s office.
“COVID-19 protocols are designed to curb the spread of this virus and reduce the impacts of this pandemic,” said Dan Huff, MDH deputy commissioner.
“Our preference is always to work with companies to comply with them and we consider regulatory actions as a last resort. The vast majority of companies are doing everything possible to curb the spread of COVID-19, and we owe it to them to have a coherent and fair application approach ”.
