Minsa clarifies that for emergency care and swabs there is no gender restriction

The Ministry of Health of Panama clarified on Monday that people who require emergency medical care or undergo a test for detection of COVID-19, can do so on any day, regardless of gender or number of certificate.

From today until January 14, it began a total quarantine in the provinces of Panama and West Panama, which restricts mobility to specific days and times, depending on gender and last certificate or passport number. This measure seeks to reduce the number of people on the streets and therefore minimize the risk of COVID-19 infection, but, as explained by the Minsa, this restriction does not apply to the care described above.

Earlier there was confusion in the swab centers, because there were men waiting for their sampling and they were told that they would not be attended to, as according to the Minsa , only women are allowed on Monday.
