Apparently, hotels are a favorite terrain for so-called “Soho Karen” who falsely accused a black teenager of stealing her iPhone in a violent confrontation in Manhattan.
It turns out that ten months before she allegedly wrapped herself in a Soho lobby the day after Christmas, 22-year-old Miya Ponsetto was busted in February after she and her mother allegedly caused a nuisance at the hotel. Beverly Hills Peninsula for refusing to leave, according to TMZ.
The Post detailed the California criminal case against Ponsetto and his mother Nicole, who were charged with public poisoning in the incident.
But the TMZ account adds new details.
Hotel staff had asked the women to leave and had called police when the couple refused, only for Nicole Ponsetto to allegedly assault an officer, pushing and kicking the police, TMZ reported.
The mother faces an additional battery charge to a police officer and the two women will have to go to court later this month.
Apparently, the incident did little to scare Ponsetto; just a day after she was charged with public poisoning by the Peninsula Hotel incident, on May 27 she was slapped with a charge of drunk driving in Los Angeles County, where she did not defend any contest, TMZ said.
Ponsetto faces possible charges in New York, including assault, grand theft or attempted robbery, the NYPD has reported.
The NYPD is looking for her for allegedly attacking Keyon Harrold Jr., 14, at the Arlo Hotel on Dec. 26.
Currently, Ponsetto is staying with his mother in California, where The Post took him on Friday while picking up a fast food lunch, saying to our goal, “I don’t know what the problem is here” and “I’m also Puerto Rican, so thank you. ”
“She was a popular girl, one of the cheerleaders, older than me” at Simi Valley High School in California, another alumnus told The Post Saturday.
“I wouldn’t even look at how I thought it wasn’t important or if I didn’t have money,” said former student Vannessa Stoerchle, now of Phoenix.
“But I was very surprised to see that,” he said.
“It’s strange to see someone in high school who was a popular girl end up like this. I never thought Miya would end up racially shaping someone like that, “he added.
“She was one of those girls who seemed to have it all on hand.”
