MLB: Parents sign South Korean super-prospect Ha-Seong Kim

In the last few hours, the San Diego Padres have given the surprise by activating an MLB marketplace which looked pretty slow: First in arming a change by Cy Young winning pitcher Blake Snell with the Tampa Bay Rays, And now they have signed one of the leading international prospects, beating him bidding on various teams interested in their services.

This is South Korean Ha-Seong Kim, who according to information from Bob Nightenhale of USA Today, the San Diego Padres have won the signature of the Asian infielder. MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports that the pact is at least 4 years old for one of the best international talent available, with the sum of money yet to be revealed.

Kim can play anywhere in the box and has amassed more than six seasons in the Korea Baseball Organization. Last season, he hit .306 / .397 / 523 with 30 homers in 622 plate appearances for the Kiwoom Heroes

He averaged 21.5 homers and 21.3 stolen bases in the 7 seasons he has played in South Korea’s KBO.
