Moderna Inc. MRNA,
on Tuesday presented an update on the supply of its COVID-19 vaccine, saying it expects to deliver 100 million doses to the U.S. government by the end of March. The company said it advanced the scheduled delivery of its second 100 million doses in late May to late June and its third 100 million doses in late July, starting in late September. To date, the company said it has administered 45.4 million doses of its vaccine and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said about 25.5 million doses of the vaccine have been administered. The Moderna vaccine requires two separate doses. Modern said it has no plans to store significant amounts of doses to soften shipments, as it has opted to send doses to the government as they occur. Shares of Moderna, which rose 0.1% in premarket trading, rose 87.6% over the past three months to Friday, while the S&P 500 SPX,
has gained 8.5%.
