This pair is definitely polarized
For me, it’s hard to believe that Monolith Soft is still close, but I’m glad it is.
Starting in 2002 with Xenosaga, the studio felt almost like a fever dream, but since then they have expanded into several franchises and most importantly made a big name with Chronicles of Xenoblade.
That game, which hardly saw life outside of Japan, became a complete franchise; almost like Xenosaga 2.0. I think they didn’t even know how great it would be, hosting a sequel, an expansion, a remaster with new story content, and now, a Smash Ultimate appearance.
They are celebrating this latest milestone this week as the studio released a new “thank you” video showing Pyra and Mythra, from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fame. It’s a tiny little clip that makes the duo accept To break invitations, with Pyra saying “I join Super Smash Bros. today, I hope you support me “and Mythra exclaims,” I definitely won’t lose. “
Do you expect us to support her? Well, as an anime character and sword user, you will need that hope.

Here is a short film by MONOLITHSOFT, the developer of Xenoblade 2, to mark the release of Pyra / Mythra as the new DLC fighter for Super #SmashBrosUltimate. Looks like they can’t wait to join the fight.
