Montana COVID-19 Report (Tuesday, March 16)

There were 406 recently confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Montana on Tuesday, and the number of deaths statewide since the pandemic began is 1,407, according to data compiled by MTN News.

The number of recently confirmed cases includes 306 cases in Cascade County that were not previously reported in recent months.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state is 856, according to MTN News, and there has been a cumulative total of 102,776 cases of the virus in Montana. Of the total cases, 100,513 have been recovered.

There are currently 54 people admitted to treat the virus and the cumulative number of hospitalizations is 4,683.

The number of tests performed in the state has reached 1,141,965, an increase of 4,177 during the previous 24-hour reporting period.

The number of mountaineers who have received at least one of the two vaccines is 367,211 and the number of mountaineers who have received both vaccines and are now fully vaccinated is 142,490.

The numbers reported by MTN reflect the most recent data from Montana COVID website, along with additional data received from county health departments.

Note: As new cases of COVID-19 in Montana continue, so does the disparity between state DPHHS data and local data from county health departments.

MTN has decided to use a combination of these sources to provide more accurate information across all media platforms. We believe this is a truer explanation of the situation in Montana.

Local county health departments can receive case alerts from Montana’s DPHHS. Because these counties share this information with the public, MTN believes it should be reflected in our reports. The use of this local data means that there will be times when the MTN coronavirus data does not align with the status report.
