There are now more than 100 million active Apple Watch users thanks to device design, health features, and related services. It is possible that Apple has reached this milestone even before 2021, as Neil Cybart said in February that, according to his estimates, Apple reached 100 million users in December.

In the second quarter of 2021, global smart watch shipments increased 27% overall and Apple was able to maintain its number one position. Apple’s market share stood at 28 percent, slightly lower than the 30 percent in the previous year’s quarter, but well above competition like Huawei, Samsung and Garmin.

The United States remains Apple’s largest market, accounting for more than half of Apple Watch’s user base.

During the quarter, the Apple Watch Series 6 was the most popular smartwatch overall, followed by the Apple Watch SE. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 took third place, followed by the Apple Watch Series 3 in fourth and the Imoo Z6-4G in fifth.

Apple in a few weeks will release its new device worn on the wrist, the Apple Watch Series 7. The 7 series will feature the first redesign we’ve seen in years, with Apple adopting a flat-cut design, a larger screen and new box sizes of 41 and 45 mm.

We expect Apple to release the new Apple Watch Series 7 models alongside the iPhone 13 line, and we could hear details about an event date in the next two weeks.
