The United States marked another serious milestone on Monday: 300,000 Americans have now died of the corona virus since the outbreak began in March.
Within a month, more than 50,000 people died in the United States due to COVID-19.
Despite the devastating numbers, there is promise of optimism: the highly effective vaccine developed by pharmaceutical company Pfizer was approved for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration on Friday, following an 17–4 vote by an advisory panel of independent experts. The first shipment of the vaccine left Pfizer’s Michigan facility early Sunday morning. On Monday morning, the same day that the United States hit 300,000 COVID-19 deaths, health workers across the country began to receive footage.
Vaccination will help slow the spread of the virus across the country, plagued by infections, hospitalizations and deaths. Officials estimate that enough will be delivered by the end of this year to 20 million people to deliver their first shows.
In the days since the country broke the daily record for virus-related deaths, the United States has the highest death toll in the world at more than 3,000. The previous record was set eight months ago on April 15, when 2,752 people died.
Last week, CDC Director Robert Redfield warned that for the next 60 to 90 days, “we’re going to get more deaths a day than we had in 9/11 or we’re at Pearl Harbor.”
Over the past several weeks, overcrowded hospitals and morgues, victims ’bodies have been piled up in refrigerated trucks, and more and more health workers – dense cities like New York – are being reminded of the early stages of the epidemic. .
Now, several states are caught up with another COVID-19 outbreak, which is evident by the red-vertical maps that monitor the spread of the virus.

On December 2, paramedics beat a patient in a revolving medical bed in the COVID-19 intensive care unit at the United Memorial Medical Center in Houston.
As cases continue to rise in New York and Los Angeles, the second and third waves of the virus are attacking rural, small towns and remote communities, which are not enough to fight the spread. The National Rural Health Association reports that more than 1 million rural Americans have tested positive.
Public health experts have warned that holiday meetings in December will exacerbate the increased spread of Thanksgiving-related travel and gatherings.
As the hopeful message of more than one vaccine brings an end to the epidemic, officials are urging people to stay home, wear masks and play their part in mitigating the spread by adhering to city-wide and statewide regulations.
During a White House vaccination summit, outgoing Vice President Mike Pence called on Americans to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, saying, “This is the corona virus vaccine that – now and when – approved this week – will be widely available to every American. ”

President Trump played golf at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia on March 13, marking the horrific milestone that 300,000 Americans have died from the corona virus since the outbreak began in March.
As President Donald Trump engages in futile legal efforts to overturn the election results (two members of his legal team include COVID-19), President-elect Joe Biden has devised his plans to tackle the costly and challenging task of vaccinating millions of Americans. , Many of them are skeptical about the virus and the vaccine. Biden said he plans to give 50 million Americans the COVID-19 vaccine in his first 100 days.
White House officials echoed Trump’s boycott of the cavalry outbreak and were among the first to receive vaccinations, often in violation of corona virus controls. Trump later tweeted, asking White House staff to “adjust” to the plan “especially if it is not needed, to get the vaccine sometime later”.
Meanwhile, Congress has made little progress in providing financial relief to millions of unemployed Americans. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday rejected the $ 900 billion bipartisan COVID-19 relief plan, which continued for months as congressional blockades in providing much-needed assistance to struggling families.
As the United States strikes a dark COVID-19 milestone, top health experts in the country are urging many in the country to come out of the corona virus denial.
“The problem is that you go to different parts of the country, and even though the outbreak is obvious, and hospitals are on the verge of sinking, there is a significant proportion of people who think this is not true – this is fake news or this is a hoax,” said Dr. Anthony Fouc, director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases. C said at an event recently. ” We will go beyond that and work together as a nation to adhere to these public health measures. ”
