The driver was driving with another young man when he apparently lost control of the car and went to the precipice. He died immediately.
José Leonel Marroquín Alvarado, 29, died and Harold Acevedo, 19, he was seriously injured when they fell into a ravine about 30 meters deep in the vehicle in which they were driving, police said.
The accident happened this afternoon on the old street in the lake of Coatepeque, in the corner of the Lagoon, in Santa Anna.
According to El Congo Green Cross lifeguards, who attended to the emergency, the driver of the vehicle apparently lost control of his car at a bend and flew several meters until he was at the bottom of the precipice.

From the impact, the Moroccan body was shot from his vehicle and died immediately due to multiple blows, authorities have detailed. The young man who accompanied him was taken to the emergency hospital in serious condition.
“I’m going to miss it,” said the young man’s brother, as he was comforted by other relatives.

According to rescue expert Edwin Alcántara, ropes, ladders and other special equipment were needed for the recovery of the corpse. The rescue was carried out in conjunction with several relief institutions and lasted 1 hour and a half through the rugged area.
According to residents, this is the first time this type of accident has happened in the area.
