Mumford and Sons leader tries to steal his wife Carey Mulligan’s “SNL” monologue

British film star Carey Mulligan was sailing on her debut with the monologue “Saturday Night Live” when her husband Marcus Mumford appeared, who was supposed to be home caring for her two children.

What the frontman of Mumford and Sons really What she wanted to do was act, on stage, where Mulligan – nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars for Best Film Contestant “Young Promise” – was speaking just then. The three-time guest on the musical “SNL” even had his guitar with him.

“Girl,” he told her, “you’re that guy who pulls out the acoustic guitar at parties.”

“People love that guy, “he insisted. Mumford was able to play for a few seconds.

When she got to talking, Mulligan complained that people often confused her with Michelle Williams. Now, just thank them, he said.

Mumford and Sons recently came to a bit of political drama when banjo player Winston Marshall sent a fan note to right-wing American writer Andy Ngo praising his new book “Unmasked,” which attacks the antifa .

Now Marshall is taking a break with the band after apologizing for the “pain” he caused. “I realize how my endorsements have the potential to be seen approvals of divisive and hateful behaviors. I apologize because that was not my intention, “Marshall said in a statement.

Mulligan’s killer sketch on “SNL” was a parody of the “dramatic lesbian drama,” based on “Ammonite” and “Portrait of a Lady on Fire,” starring Heidi Gardner and Kate McKinnon. There were rocks, a lot of sea, fingers touching and “a choreographic look.” Finally, “a sex scene” so supposedly graphic that you think, “Oh, well, a man has directed it.” Check it out here:
