The 20-year-old, who was studying journalism and had recently started working for a local news channel, claimed days before her death that she had received threats to be a public figure showing her face in videos.
“Through this video I say goodbye to everyone,” were the last words said by Najma Sadeqi, a youtuber of Afghan origin, hours before he died during the attack that left 168 dead in the vicinity of the Kabul Airport, the capital of Afghanistan, last week.
According to several international newspapers, including CNN and El Comerç, the 20-year-old was studying journalism and had recently been hired by a local medium to pursue her profession, but failed to hold the position for long.

The youtuber, who did not know what it was like to live under the Taliban regime, was forced to record a farewell video instead of the videos she regularly produced before the political disaster in her country, which dealt with topics such as cooking or everyday life next to his friends.
The last thing he said in a video, which is no longer available on the platform, was, “Because we are not allowed to work in and out of our homes, we all had to record one last video (… ) And through this video I say goodbye to everyone. “

In addition, she stated that she was afraid to go out on the street and also asked her fans to pray for her, according to CNN, a medium that had access to the video.
“Life in Kabul has become very difficult, especially for those who used to be free and happy,” Sadeqi said before saying goodbye.

Najma died on August 26 before arriving at Kabul airport in hopes of leaving his country due to the strong threats he had received.
“She dreamed of developing a career in the media despite the challenges she faced,” her older sister told local media.
