NASA | Perseverance gets the first audio recording on Mars

the NASA has released the first audio recording made in Mart thanks to the mission Perseverance to the planet.

According to the NASA, the rover Perseverance managed to record these sounds on February 19 this year, 18 hours after the successful landing on the surface of Mart.

According to the space agency, the stick of the rover, which held the microphone Supercam, was still stored on the deck of Perseverance, so the sound is muffled, a bit like the sound you hear when listening to a sea shell or having a hand over your ear. You can only hear a little wind.

There is also a recording of laser shots on the planet

Perseverance also managed to capture the first acoustic recording of laser beam impacts on a rock target at Mart.

This recording dates from March 2, 2021 and was also made with the microphone SuperCam.

The target was Maaz (Mars, in Navajo), a rock located 3 meters away from the Perseverance.
