NC is among the lowest in vaccine distribution: WRAL.com

– A recently published map of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows how states operate in the distribution of vaccines.

The interactive map tracks two things: the rate of people who have received the first dose and the number of vaccines distributed: the number of vaccines sent.

Across the country, more than 4.5 million people have received the first round of vaccinations. There are still 11 million distributed doses that have not yet been used.

As of Jan. 4, seven states, including North Carolina, are appearing in a light blue color. These are the states that have vaccinated less than 1,000 people out of 100,000.

North Carolina rate: 966 people per 100,000. That’s less than just five other states in the country.

The West Virginia rate is more than three times that of North Carolina.

The vaccine distribution rate for our state is not much better, although it is light blue in color and is among the 10th lowest vaccines ever distributed.

When analyzing the percentage of vaccines distributed compared to those administered, North Carolina has given only 25.5%, much less than the nation, which stands at 29.5%.
