Mooresville, NC – A North Carolina man calls for people to be vaccinated against COVID-19 after saying his wife’s hospital stay was interrupted due to an excess of patients and a lack of rooms.
Jason Arena’s wife had breast cancer in stage 4. According to Arena, he took her to the hospital for treatment because she had severe symptoms, including respiratory problems due to excess fluid in the lungs and jaundice.
Arena said they arrived at the hospital at 4:30 a.m. but had to wait four hours to be seen. “They put an oxygen mask on her and she sat in the wheelchair for four hours in the waiting room,” he said.
Once his wife was treated in the emergency room, doctors did a great job, Arena said, but due to a surplus of patients with COVID-19, his wife did not get her own. hospital room until well into the night.

After a night in the hospital, Arena said his wife was discharged even though she was still uncomfortable.
“They’re in a position where they need to get people out,” he said.
Arena said his wife suffered at home for two days while trying to request an outpatient consultation. He later died.
“It hit me hard because I didn’t feel comfortable,” he said, criticizing people who aren’t vaccinated and people who are skeptical about the virus’s existence to “run to the hospital and put everyone at risk.”
