The mayor of Guayanilla, Nelson Torres Yordán, resigned today, Tuesday, from his confirmed position in The New Day his press spokesman, Glidden Lopez.
“His resignation is effective today at midnight. The reason is his new assignment as a lawyer that what is needed is available to begin his new commitments “, explained López by telephone.
Torres Yordán was defeated in the last elections by his opponent of the New Progressive Party (PNP), Raúl Rivera.
Follow the disclosed results of the State Election Commission (CEE), with 100% of polling stations reported, Raúl Rivera wanted the advantage with 56.36% for a total of 4,748 votes, while Torres Yordán added 3,357 for 39.85%.
