The film takes the premise of the 1999 teen comedy classic, She’s All That (vaguely based on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and the 1964 classic, My Fair Lady) and puts it to your ear.
The original followed a popular actress (Freddie Prinze Jr.) who is committed to becoming an “unattractive” girl (Rachel Leigh Cook) and making her the queen of the prom.
The remake follows a popular girl (Rae) who takes on the challenge of making her school’s biggest loser (Buchanan) the king of promise.
