It looks like a couple of cartoons with Nintendo’s Super Mario family are no longer available on Netflix: The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 i Super Mario World. Based on the beloved NES and SNES games, the two shows follow the exploits of Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool as they battle King Koopa and the Koopalings. The time is unfortunate for those who want to enjoy some parties before Mario Day, but fans will be happy to know The Super Mario Bros. Super Show remains available to the service as of this writing.
Some outlets have erroneously stated this The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 i Super Mario World will be removed on March 31, but both shows appear to have disappeared from Netflix as of this writing. March 31 is also the same day that some games will no longer be available in the Nintendo Switch online store. Nintendo has listed this date as the last chance that players will have to buy the digital version of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and the last day that Super Mario Bros. 35 will be available. These games were always supposed to be limited time versions, but there doesn’t seem to be any real connection between the eliminations.
The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 i Super Mario World they are usually grouped with The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, but there are several differences between them. In particular, Super Mario Bros. 3 i Super Mario World it mainly had new voice castings and left the live action segments that were tied to the Super Show. Both cartoons also introduced new elements based on their respective games Super Show was freely based on 2 of Super Mario Bros..
While this news is certainly disappointing to some Netflix users, Paramount + subscribers will be happy to know that both cartoons are available on this service. This should give Nintendo fans an extra incentive to check out Paramount +. The transmission service also has Console wars, a documentary detailing the conflict between Nintendo and Sega throughout the 1990s. As such, Paramount + subscribers have multiple options to enjoy the goodness of Nintendo’s 90s!
