The New York Giants have been relatively quiet since the NFL legal manipulation window opened Monday, but it’s not for lack of attempts.
Despite having some financial weight, the Giants and CEO Dave Gettleman have been aggressive in trying to sign a few free agents. However, with the exception of runner Devontae Booker, who was possibly overpaid, and great receiver John Ross, things have not gone well.
The Giants “went tough” after extremist Leonard Floyd, but eventually ended up signing with the Los Angeles Rams. In the end, that decision was reduced to personal preference and he said no to the Giants.
According to reports, Gettleman & Co. they were also in the mix of Hunter Henry, who is an interesting target and can tilt his hand a bit, before agreeing to pacts with the New England Patriots.
Leonard Floyd was known by several sources in the league to be a major fault of the Giants. It was tough, but Floyd just picked Rams ’return.
The giants also mingled to some extent with TE Hunter Henry, which is interesting. Shows that weren’t necessarily expected to end Leonard Williams ’deal.

The Giants have also been left out of the high-end wide receiver market, though that may be more for design. The movement of many of these free agents has been slow and it seems that the market does not match the demand.
Either way, it’s worrying that the Giants are being sidelined by coveted players. This year they were expecting better recruiting under coach Joe Judge and with players like safety Logan Ryan, but that hasn’t worked out the way they had hoped.
