New York is the first state with the vaccination test application

(Newser)
– New Yorkers can now get an app that will display code that documents that they can enter events securely. The Excelsior Pass, which can also be printed, will serve as proof that the carrier has recently tested negative for the coronavirus or has been vaccinated. USA Today reports. The code will be accepted at various arts and entertainment venues, including stages. Governor Andrew Cuomo has supported the development of the app and the state is making it available for free. Some sites may also ask for photo ID. The premises will scan the customer’s QR code, producing a green check or a red X. It is the first state certification program in this country.

The system was tested in an NBA game at the Barclays Center and in an NHL game at Madison Square Garden, by Syracuse.com. “The Excelsior Pass will play a critical role in providing safe and streamlined reporting on places and places,” Cuomo said earlier this month, “allowing us to accelerate the reopening of these businesses.” The system is based on IBM’s Digital Health Pass platform and uses blockchain technology, so no one (including IBM) will be able to access the user’s health information. Walmart offers something similar to people who received the COVID-19 vaccine in one of its stores, for USA Today. (Read more stories about the coronavirus vaccine).
