Predictions of the first thought of the divisional round of the NFL playoffs
– Baltimore to Buffalo
– Cleveland and Kansas City
– Tampa Bay to New Orleans
Well, it was all great and fantastic.
The massive NFL Wild Card weekend was excellent from start to finish. Even when there was a bit of a flaw – (coughing) Chicago New Orleans (coughing) – it was still relatively entertaining within reach of all those games that matter.
And now we have even more fun.
Two games on Saturday, two games on Sunday and they will be loaded.
Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen headline Saturday night when Baltimore goes to Buffalo, and we get Brady’s third round against Brees when Tampa Bay goes to New Orleans to finish Sunday night.
Oh yeah, and the Rams going to Green Bay on Saturday and Cleveland bring their show to Kansas City on Sunday isn’t bad either.
So what will happen?
While we do it on the university side, we go with the first options and then work from there. As they tell you in third grade, always follow your first answer. I don’t look at the lines, guess what they are, and then I add them at the end.
By the way … it was 6-0 straight and 5-1 against the spread when I did that in the wild card round.
However, when our game previews come out – after the news of the week has passed and there are even more deep dives – these can and can change, but …
2021 NFL Divisional Playoff Round: Saturday
6 Los Angeles Rams to 1 Green Bay Packers
Saturday, January 16th
FOX, 4:35 ET
Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
Instant knee analysis: The Rams were able to get it against a Seattle team that, for some strange reason, thought the answer to not being able to hit the third game was to keep throwing it deep. Green Bay will be sharper along the way.
That LA D – no. 1 in the NFL – it’s obviously amazing, but Aaron Donald is busted and, as good as that performance was against the Seahawks, it won’t be enough to beat a Jared Goff still injured.
Green Bay doesn’t spin the ball enough to import here, but there’s a bigger problem … Green Bay.
It’s still almost a week away, but it’s expected to be around 20 degrees at the time of the match.
Knee-Jerk No research prediction: Green Bay 26, Los Angeles 16
No Line Look Guess: Green Bay -7.5
Actual BetMGM line: Green Bay -7, o / u: 46
