Amanda Kloots began going to therapy several months after the death of her husband, actor Nick Cordero. The Broadway star, nominated for Tony, died in July from complications of coronavirus, after more than 90 days in an intensive care unit. In an Instagram post this weekend, Kloots said she was “finally ready” to go to therapy to “address the trauma” she faced last year.
Kloots, who has joined The Talk as a co-host, she said New Year’s Day was “worse” for her than Christmas. “I think it’s because when a new year comes, you want a clean slate or you forget about last year, [especially] In 2020, “Kloots wrote.” But, I can’t forget about last year and I won’t be able to clear the board. “She also thought she might be ‘a little scared’ of the change that could come in a year.” Lastly, I think everything I have experienced brings me up to date and I am finally ready to go to therapy to address the trauma. ”
His decision to share these feelings with his 629,000 Instagram followers is part of his “continued honesty about friendship and loss. How he dwindles and flows, changes a lot. How he hides and then finds you. How he is a journey, not just a week. How is a continuous struggle, even if I am active and positive. How can you cry for a few days for two seconds or two hours. How does it make you feel so alone and confused. ” In the end, Kloots said being honest and publicly acknowledging his feelings has helped him and “I hope he helps you,” he wrote.
Cordero and Kloots were married in September 2017 and welcomed their son Elvis in June 2019. Cordero was hospitalized in late March after testing positive for coronavirus. The actor, who also appeared in Blue Bloods i Law and Order: SVU, I never left the hospital. She died on July 5 and Kloots has continued to use Instagram to keep her husband’s memory alive. He has shared several family photos with Cordero, especially during the holidays.
Kloots is a fitness and dance instructor, but is also getting into television. He will join The talk full-time, alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osbourne Entertainment tonight. “I couldn’t be more grateful to start this job in just two days,” Kloots wrote Saturday. “This holiday season has been tough and I’ve focused on spending every day in the best way I can. Holidays make you appreciate what you have and the family you have. I’m excited to have a new family that will be separate every morning “.
