It was recently revealed that CatDog and April O’Neil were playable characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. If this teaser has anything to advance in terms of the base list count, it means there are still six characters left to reveal before the game is released.
KinglyNerd recently released a video that made him talk about the CatDog and April O’Neil trailers. Notably, KinglyNerd is able to identify a lot of references from the 90s CatDog and Ninja Turtles cartoon series.
We can immediately say that there are several movements in which the dog becomes an amateur and some serious muscles are attacking a strong attack. As KinglyNerd points out, this is a direct reference to an episode titled “Pumped.” There is a very good reason why Dog performs these types of techniques while Cat cannot.
It is also worth noting that there are a lot of moves in which both Cat and Dog attack at the same time. In other words, the attention boxes are placed on either side of CatDog when certain movements are performed. This will likely be one of CatDog’s strengths in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
While some continuations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles make it so that April O’Neil receives ninja training from Master Splinter, this version of April O’Neil seems to be the yellow jacket reporter of the continuity of the drawings of the 90s. thus, April seems to be the fighter with her cameras and team of reporters.
