Shrining in the Darkness
This week sees the long-awaited arrival of Square Enix ‘ NieR Replicant. For those of you who just can’t wait for these last few days, PlayStation Underground turns its back on you, offering 15 minutes of gameplay captured directly from the remaster’s PS4 edition. In addition, Publisher Square Enix has released a new trailer for “additional content” just this morning, showcasing some of the exciting new features that are added to the updated edition of the action-RPG.
Narrated by PS and Kristen of PS Underground and accompanied by Reid Taguchi of Square Enix, the video represents the first feats of the adventure of the protagonist Nier. The young hero visits The Lost Shrine for the first time, solving puzzles, takes part in a fight and appears face to face with fellow secondary Grimoire Weiss, who will accompany Nier on his quest. The preview ends with an epic encounter with one of the sanctuary’s powerful guardians, as Nier and Weiss team up for the first of many battles the duo will face.
NieR Replicant will bring updated visuals, re-recorded voiceovers and a reordered soundtrack supervised by original composer Keiichi Okabe. As discussed in the video, the combat has been optimized for the modern era and should look a little more relatable to the fans who joined the series with a hugely successful sequel. NieR: automata. I admit that I arrived late to this franchise and therefore I am very eager to check it out NieR Replicant in this modern and polished format. In fact, it looks very elegant.
NieR Replicant launches on April 23 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
