Here is a solid piece of gameplay for this upcoming Dark Souls: Remastered mod
The creator of the known Daughters of Ash mod for Dark souls returns with an even bigger and bolder project, which is done with a group, and they have released an 18-minute game preview. The project, Dark Souls: Nightfall, is a “direct sequel” that begins with a leap of faith in the oven of the first flame, right where Gwyn was killed by the chosen dead in the original finale.
Evening it promises “a new story, a new combat system, a new world map and more.”
To unzip it a bit, the resources for this modification are not entirely new, but the creators and contributors (Grimrukh, AinTunez, Meowmaritu, horkrux, Dane Brennand, wulf2k, Souv, ZullieTheWitch, Itzli and Martin Billany) are doing everything they can do Evening it feels different and fresh to the fans.
This includes story-driven game mechanics (like a crazy-looking dodge), voice-playing NPCs, faster-paced combat, enemies that had a texture and were given “heavily modified animations,” and a partially Lordran as we know it and partially new areas built from “existing map pieces”.
Preview images demonstrate all of these elements. Aside from the Demon Blistering and the potential for other challenging boss fights to prove it, I’m very fascinated by the time-altering properties of Gwyn’s Pendant, a “medallion containing remnants of the First Flame”. At the beginning of Evening, a text message says “twelve ashes”; about ten minutes later, another message warns that there are eleven left and the player uses Gwyn’s pendant to go back in time.
Dark Souls Preview: Nightfall finally lands this weekend! It’s a video I played to the very beginning.
Until then, here’s an independent demonstration of the time system I’ve been working on. Watch as the sun sets (and sets) over Lordran in real time. pic.twitter.com/wPgpPebfQ2

The description of the pendant article suggests that “only the [player’s] memories and special possessions “will make the return trip, which fans have already achieved. They speculate on a time-based bond Evening not unlike Majora’s mask. If true, this would be the fusion of minds.
Evening has no release date, but you can play it with a copy of Dark Souls: Remastered.
