A new leak of Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite has ruined the possible return of a 2005 classic Star Wars game. Developers and publishers have brought their classic games to Switch and Switch Lite en masse, and so far this migration from before has included classic ports Star Wars games. And now it seems Star Wars: Republic Commando joins this migration to Nintendo handhelds.
According to Nintendo Everything, update the data for Star Wars: Republic Commando has been uploaded to Nintendo’s servers, which in turn suggests that the 2005 game not only hits Switch and Switch Lite, but the announcement and release are on the horizon, or in other words , sooner rather than later.
As noted, Aspypr appears as an editor, which is notable because they already carried Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, i Episode I Corridor on the switch and on the switch. Meanwhile, Nintendo Everything also notes that this is exactly how several Switch games have been leaked in the past, including both Paladins i Fortnite.
For those who do not know: Star Wars: Republic Commando debuted in 2005 and was originally an Xbox exclusive before coming to PC a few days later. That said, even though the game quickly made it to PC, it never made it to any Nintendo or PlayStation platform.
“Chaos has erupted across the galaxy,” says an official release of LucasArts ’first-person tactical shooting game. “As the leader of an elite squadron of Comandos de la República, your mission is to infiltrate, dominate and ultimately annihilate the enemy. Your team will follow your orders and follow your example, working together as a team, instinctively, intelligently, instantaneously. they are their leader. they are your weapon “.
At the time of posting, Aspyr has not commented on this apparent leak. Neither has Nintendo nor LucasArts. That said, if that changes, we will be sure to update the story accordingly.
Interestingly, this leak comes at the back of rumors that Aspyr is working on a renaissance of the AAA DIRTY. Does this leak give credibility to the rumors or vice versa? Well, that’s exactly it Star Wars fans are currently debating.
