Nintendo has been criticized in the past for not giving the Metroid series enough focus compared to certain others franchises, but it looks like things will be different this time.
Before the release of Metroid Dread next month, Nintendo will launch the red carpet for its intergalactic bounty hunter. In addition to all the trailers, reports and posts posted on social media so far, the company has also gotten to the point of launching giant Switch ads at Tokyo train stations:
While it may not seem like much, keep in mind that this is Metroid. See Samus instead of Super Mario, Link or No animals it is a big deal, and it’s great to see Nintendo giving the conclusion to the original Metroid saga the attention it deserves.
It looks like the new Switch entry is already on track to become possibly the best-selling Metroid game to date, with the title surpassing Amazon and other pre-order graphics a few days after it was announced. And with Metroid Prime 4 still on the way, the resurgence of Samus will probably only increase and improve.
