Drinkbox Studios, the creators of popular fighters Guacamelee!, have a new game on the way. This is an action role-playing game called No one saves the world.
In No one saves the world, the world in question needs to be spared in a final trial event called Calamity. Although it shares a name and a purpose (destroying everything) with the Calamity from Supergiant Bastion, this is less a “faceless force of destruction that consumes everything” and more an “invading army of monsters.” Beautiful and simple.
You are chosen as a character named Nobody (do you understand?) Who stumbles upon a magic wand, allowing you to switch to various unlockable shapes. If you want to be a ranger, you can do it. A bodybuilder? That too. How about a horse? Yes!
From a top-down perspective, you’ll explore an excessive world and tackle procedurally generated dungeons. Drinkbox says the game will have no grind. Instead, you’ll unlock forms, skills, progression, and more by completing missions. These missions can range from “breaking things” to “becoming a rat” to the very presumptuous “cheering on a fellow rabbit lover.” (Personally I am more loved by hares).
No one saves the world will be released later this year for Xbox and PC consoles. It will be available on Game Pass on both platforms from day one.
