Nominated for Best Destructoid PlayStation Game of 2020

Sliding from one direct generation to the next

If we look back to 2020, I find it hard to understand Dreams i Spider-Man: Miles Morales – to say nothing of the PS5 in general – It all came out the same year. It has been very long. Too long.

Even if there’s a new console on the market (if you can beat the scalper bots), the PlayStation 4 had a fantastic “last” year, though I even hesitate to call it that; it goes nowhere. Since luckily I managed to get a PlayStation 5 at launch, I have to say I’m really sharing my time – I’m just as likely to boot a PS4 title on this strong guy as an honest PS5 game.

In some cases, like Ghost of Tsushima at 60 fps, these games work substantially better with the new hardware. I hope it continues. I have a clear feeling that even as real exclusives only on PS5, they will be developed throughout 2021, I will continue to revisit the PS4 Hall of Fame. This, to me, is a sign of permanent power.

The PlayStation 4 was (and still is!) Quite a machine, and this year’s lineup brought it.

From the creative whim of Dreams, to the effortless flow of Miles Morales, to the heartbreaking terror of Last of Us Part II, and everything in between, PlayStation fans did not lack memorable experience.

Here are the nominees for Best Destructoid PlayStation Game of 2020:

[Note: This year, we’re once again running a separate Best Remaster/Remake award for our GOTY. Take that as you will!]
