There have been warnings of short, temporary power outages in neighborhoods to deal with the overwhelming demand, but some say they have been surprised by the weather denying them electricity.
“I wear several layers of clothing to keep my body warm,” said Clint Cash, a Collin County resident.
The 44-year-old lives in Nevada City.
He is packed and comes out of the cold in the car parked outside his house.
“In fact, since 5:30 a.m., 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., the electricity has been turned off,” he said.

“I think maybe it went up again around 7:30 and then I went down again. I tried to stay in bed, but it’s hard to eat a lot of things because I had dinners in the microwave I had bought in case I got stuck and I can’t use the microwave, ”he said.
These microwave meals are now stored in the snow.
Cash says the streets surrounding his cottage are dangerous.
So for now, you are more comfortable using the heat of your vehicle, which is parked in an open area, to stay warm.
“It was very cold and of course it was colder, but honestly I slept with all my clothes, almost what I’m wearing right now. I’m sleeping minute by minute day by day. I have no plans to drive,” he said. .
Cash also can’t use the blood pressure machine he uses every night to control heart disease.
Still, try to stay positive and warm at the same time.
“It is miserable, but it is not the end of the world. We can take it, ”he said.
