NUC University initiates vaccination of medical and administrative staff

Through a collaboration agreement with VOICES, NUC University’s faculty and administrative staff began receiving their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine earlier this week. It is estimated that more than a thousand employees complete their vaccination as a method of prevention against the virus, as established in the Protocol and Security Plan developed by the academic institution, to ensure a safe work environment for all who work in each of the Venues, Centers and the Online Division of NUC University.

The University also reported that they already have a plan for vaccinating their students as soon as the Secretary of the Department of Health, Dr. Carlos Mellado López, announce the opening of the corresponding phase. Since October 2020, students from the University School of Nursing have been participating as volunteers in the inoculation events organized by VOICES. This alliance allowed NUC University to complete the necessary steps to be prepared for the immunization of its staff. As part of the collaborative agreement, both staff and students participated in trainings that have allowed them to participate in the massive events around the island and be prepared for this process.

“We thank VOUS once again for their excellent work and commitment to the health of Puerto Rico. Having their experience and knowledge has been key to preparing for the vaccination process of our university community. Our students have We have been privileged to be a part of this historic moment, in which VOICES has provided you with an experience that will bring you to your academic future. We are confident that these experiences will be memorable for our students who aspire to be great Health professionals to serve our communities, ”said Michael W. Bannett, president of NUC University.
