A male nurse in Indonesia has been suspended after admitting to removing her personal protective equipment for having sex in the toilet with a man infected with COVID-19, according to reports.
“It is true that there has been a suspicious incident of a same-sex relationship between a health worker and a COVID-19 patient at Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital,” said Asep Gunawan of the National Association. of Nurses.
She said the nurse “must follow the legal process,” Indonesia Expat reported.
The incident in Jakarta came to light when the patient boasted on his Twitter account on Friday, according to British Sun.
He posted a screenshot of WhatsApp messages between the funny couple, including details about the lubricants and the size of their genitals, the media reported.
The patient also posted a picture of the nurse’s PPE lying on the floor while the couple lay down.
“This case has been transferred to the Jakarta Central Police. We have ensured that the health worker becomes a witness and we have asked for more information, “said Lt. Col. Arh Herwin of the Regional Military Command.
“Meanwhile, the patient remains isolated in the athlete’s home,” he added, referring to a former Olympic athletes ’accommodation villa that was transformed into a coronavirus hospital.
The two men were later tested for coronavirus. The patient was found to be still positive while the nurse tested negative, officials said.
If convicted, men face prison sentences of up to ten years.
