Coronavirus vaccination appointments scheduled for Monday have been postponed due to the impending snowstorm, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Sunday, along with the suspension of face-to-face school classes and alternative parking.
At least 14 to 16 inches of snow will remain in New York from Sunday evening through Tuesday, the mayor predicted during a City Council press conference.
“Fourteen to sixteen inches would be bad enough,” he said. “It could be so much more than that.”
With the fall of the storm, de Blasio announced that all coronavirus vaccination appointments scheduled for Monday would be resumed, and an appointment was not yet scheduled for Tuesday’s appointments.
“The last thing we want to do is urge our seniors to come out in the middle of a storm like this,” he said.
In addition, face-to-face classes in public schools have been canceled on Monday, and classes are held online.
As with vaccination appointments, a call for Tuesday’s classes has yet to be made, Blasio said.
Alternative side parking has been suspended on both Monday and Tuesday, he said.
