NYPD requires vaccinations for its employees at these events

New York City police officers and officers who climbed ranks are not required to operate the COVID-19 vaccine, but they do need it to attend their own department ceremony, The Post has learned.

The department reported on Friday its basis for the restriction in an email blast obtained by The Post. It is the latest move by the police to try to prevent the spread of the Delta variant and increase the vaccination rate of workers.

The immunization warrant will also apply to anyone over the age of 12 who wants to attend NYPD promotion ceremonies on Aug. 24 at the 1 Police Plaza Auditorium and Aug. 25 at the venue station. 121, as well as at the graduate ceremony of new recruits at the Police Academy on 26 August.

Masks will also be mandatory for any client over 2 years old.

“Service members will still graduate or be promoted if they are unable to attend the ceremony,” the note says.
